The frequency of LOLER inspections depends on the type of equipment and its usage. Generally, for lifts and equipment used for lifting people, a thorough examination is required at least every six months. For all other lifting equipment, an inspection is typically needed every 12 months. However, these are minimum requirements, and a "competent person" may recommend a more frequent inspection schedule based on the equipment's condition, the environment it is used in, and the risks associated with its use.
